๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ What does it take to be your optimal self? ๐Ÿฉบ

Over the summer I attended a powerful 3-day Embodiment Coaching Community gathering, beautifully held and guided by the incredible Anthea Bell.

It was a deep dive into how our physiology, emotions, and neurology shape how we show up as coaches and leaders in any area of work and how we must walk the walk ourselves to create safe, curious spaces for others.

๐Ÿ’ก One conversation on Day 2 really landed with me:

๐Ÿ‘‰ What are your non-negotiables for being an optimal human being?

Not perfect. Not always on.

The version of you that feels resourced, grounded, present and capable.

Iโ€™ve explored boundaries many times before, but this reframing struck a deeper chord. It invites us to check:

What needs am I neglecting?
What am I prioritising above me?
Where am I running on autopilot?

So I developed my non-negotiables summary list (5 days out of 7):

๐ŸŒž Morning
Daylight before 8am (when the season permits)
20 mins movement: pilates, yoga, walk, strength
Big 6โ„ข Lymph Reset
Protein + fibre breakfast

๐ŸŒฟ During the day
15 mins of stillness outside (in nature if poss)
Check phone intentionally (not on autopilot)
Connect with a friend
Body check-in + reset (x2)

๐ŸŒ™ Evening
Cook in celebration of the day
Screens off at 9pm
Movement or meditation before bed
Reading to unwind

๐Ÿ› Weekly
A long bath soak
Swim under the sky
Longer yoga or Pilates
Protected rest time
A walk with a friend or family

I noticed Iโ€™ve already got a strong morning foundation. But once the day kicks in, itโ€™s easy for me to lose that embodied presence and not notice until I reach the evening feeling depleted.

I'm my most valuable resource as a business owner and coach (yes, this goes for you too whatever your profession) so it's something I need to prioritise investing in every single day.

So now Iโ€™m curious.

๐Ÿ‘‰ What would be on your list?

Not someone elseโ€™s version, yours. It might look completely different, and thatโ€™s the point. Our needs are personal and unique.

If you feel comfortable, share one or two non-negotiables that help you feel like your optimal self. I'm waiting to be inspired!

(I suspect cat and dog cuddles might make an appearance for some of my connections โ€ฆ)
